Jumping June: Matchbox Cats

Hello Peeps,

Welcome to the last day of Jumping June.

Today I want to show you a mistake of Miss H's which turned into some very cute cats.

Miss H attempted to use this pattern that she found on Wild Olive's blog from a guest poster. Unfortunately, Miss H wasn't paying much attention and she didn't have any pins... ooops. Though, judging by the coolio cats - it really was not a disaster. In fact, Miss H like them soooooo much she got carried away...

Here they are! Ahhhhhhhh! I am being overrun by matchbox-sized kittens!!!

Miss H drew the faces on with a special pen. These are the faces from the original pattern.

Then Miss H decided to give them some different faces...

I call this one Shock because it looks like he has been shocked by electricity.  Hee...hee...

This guy is Miss H's favourite. She thinks he would talk in a very posh voice.

Every cat fits perfectly into a matchbox. Though some of the cats are still waiting for Miss H to make them their home.

Peek-a-boo!

Jumping June: Luna-tic

Hello Paw-Pals,

Fun Fact: Cats can jump up to 6 times their height!

So for today's blog post I thought I would introduce you to our newest member of the family - Luna!
The Mother, Miss H, and I have nicknamed her Luna-tic... keep reading to find out why.

This is the adorable cat. She joined our family at the beginning of December when the Mother finally gave into my pleas of having someone to chase all day   the Geek's begging for a kitten.

Aren't her eyes amazing?

Luna-tic and I are great friends - she even follows the Mother and I up the driveway for our evening walk.

One of her favourite past-times is staring at the washing going around and around.
Unfortunately, some of her other favourite past-times include knocking things off tables and benches, chasing flies, and meowing incessantly when I leave the house.
No wonder we have nick-named her Luna-tic!!!

Is this my best side?

Luna is a special cat.  She is completely deaf (this has been tested by EVERY member in the family!!!).  She is perfect for me - she doesn't mind my growls, she loves playing rough and tumble with me, and she worships me a bit like I am the King (well, okay I may have made that bit up!)

She is pretty cute tho', and I can't think of a better interactive play toy for a dog like me to have.

P.S. The sheepie will be back later this week for the last post in Jumping June.

Jumping June: Who's that under the blanket?

Hello Paw-Pals,

See I told you she had gone all ‘funny bunny’ on me….She found this lovely one in an op shop.  Isn’t he cute?!  I think she is gonna make him into a pincushion.

The Mother loves his cute face!

Hmmm... I wonder who this adorable bedding is for? It is far too tiny for me...

Whose ears are those hiding beneath the blankets I wonder..?

Bunnies! Aren't they adorable?!
The Mother made two delicious, tasty, cute bunnies this month. The pink one is hers and the aqua one is for Miss H (of course!).

The Mother hasn't named them yet. Do you have any suggestions for names?

I hope you are having a good week.

Jumping June: Bunny Quilt

Hello Paw-Pals,

Continuing with the Jumping theme this post is also about rabbits.

A rabbit quilt.  I think the Mother is having a rabbit phase.  When she lived in Kenya she got Miss H and the Geek some beautiful rabbits which they loved to play with.

She got the ideas for this quilt from Jedicraftgirl.blogspot.com. Click HERE for the tutorial.

As you can see she did raw edged applique and practiced her free motion quilting swirls again.  I think the fabric she used was pretty too.  Of course she can’t remember what it was called now.
I think when they talk about a quilters stash it is just a fancy name for a quilter who hoards fabric!

You know if they were real rabbits I wouldn’t be able to sit still…..just saying……

Jumping June: Knitted Bunnies

Hello Peeps,

Today I will show you the Mother's new knitted bunnies. She just loves the knitted bunnies that she has seen online, and so she asked an old friend of hers to knit her a couple bunnies.

They were even BETTER than she imagined!!!

The handsome boy bunny is called Parker and the pretty girl one is called Priscilla.

I gave them a welcome tea party! (Yes, I did share my chocolate chip and glaze cherry muffin)

He has a little pocket handkerchief, and she has the cutest knitted panties.

The Mother LURVES them lots and lots. The lady who made them for her is in her 80's! - and very very good at knitting!!!

Queen's Birthday Walk

Hello Peeps and Paw-Pals,

This Queen's Birthday Weekend we all went to Pauanui and checked out the new boardwalk and walking path.

When we started the tide was waaaay out. Woof!

It was a very scenic walk.

A memorial forest is in the process of being planted. I can't wait until it is finished...

The walk continues around through the bush and on and on. Eventually it will continue around for over 25km all the way to Tairua.

We crossed this lovely river. When Miss H was much younger, the Boss took her and the other children they holiday with all the way up the river - it was soooo cool!

There were lots of Amphibola Crenata in the mud. Ocean-side walks with the Boss, who trained as a marine biologist, is such fun!

By the time we made it back to the beginning, the tide was well and truly in.
