Yay! Today is our day on the She Who Sews Blog Hop. A big thanks to our wonderful leader Madam Samm and the great cheerleader Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks
Quilting Treasures is our sponsor for this blog hop - YAY for them!!!
Miss H and the Mother ordered their material from Hancocks. It was quite exciting when it arrived - they loved it.
For those of you who are new here this is my blog (I am in the above photo) and I am the kindest sheepie in the world and have let Miss H and the Mother use my blog.
Both of them had wanted to make sewing machine covers for a while and when this blog hop was announced they knew it was the PERFECT time for them to make them.
First is The Mother's sewing machine cover.
She used one of the panels and then added an applique sewing machine and her favourite word 'Sewing!'
She added funky buttons to the sides.
This is Miss H's sewing machine cover. She used one of her favourite panels too for the front.
Look at the coolio little button.
Miss H wanted to do something unique for her cover. When she first saw the material she thought it had a bit of a steampunk look and that made her think of the dress she wore to a Victorian Steampunk Ball. And she decided to take her inspiration from that. So she got the Boss to help her put in some eyelets and then laced ribbon through them to make the sides of her cover.
Er...think I got myself in a tangle... Help Miss H....
Miss H also made a pincushion.
Isn't it sooooo COOLIO?!
The Mother also wanted a mat to go with her machine cover.
She made it with special pockets so she can put in scissors, needles, etc.
Then she really got into it and made a pouch for me.
Then she really got into it and made a pouch for me.
What do you mean it's not for me? You will have to find me before you can have it back!
The Mother added a selvage edge with Handmaids on it which finishes it off nicely. It's actually for her scraps.
A Giveaway:
This is our first ever giveaway. Look at all the coolio things you could win. (Note. Me - the sheep to the right of the picture - is not included in the giveaway.)

I absolutely love the corset lacing idea on that one cover! Just perfect for this fabric.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great blog!
ReplyDeleteYour projects look wonderful! The corset lacing on the side of the machine cover is inspired. I like that you added the selvege too.
ReplyDeleteVery cute accessories and of course the sheep is a great helper. I really like the cover for the machine. Great for keeping off the dust!
ReplyDeleteI love what miss H and the mother have done with their fabric. I think you look quite cozy in your pouch, maybe you should argue the point that if they made something for themselves you should have something too ;P
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing all your lovely projects!!
ReplyDeleteGreat work! I love the eyelets on the side of the machine cover.
ReplyDeleteSo much inspiration. I think the one that has me motivated is the mat with pockets. Great idea! My machine is too heavy to move every time I need my desk area so I have it on a mat and I slide it. Now I can see a better way--a mat with pockets so I can slide the seam ripper, scissors, thread and bobbins right along with the whole set up.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects.Your machine cover caught my eye!!
ReplyDeleteOh, how sweet your cover is. It seems as there are a lot of happy machines out there that are getting covered. Don't you just love that panels on the fabric?? You set them up perfectly for your machine.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful machine cover and the little pouches are so cute!! I want to hug that little lamb.
