She Who Sews!

Hello Peeps,

Yay! Today is our day on the She Who Sews Blog Hop. A big thanks to our wonderful leader Madam Samm and the great cheerleader Carla from Creatin' in the Sticks

Quilting Treasures is our sponsor for this blog hop - YAY for them!!!

Miss H and the Mother ordered their material from Hancocks.  It was quite exciting when it arrived - they loved it.

For those of you who are new here this is my blog (I am in the above photo) and I am the kindest sheepie in the world and have let Miss H and the Mother use my blog.

Both of them had wanted to make sewing machine covers for a while and when this blog hop was announced they knew it was the PERFECT time for them to make them.

First is The Mother's sewing machine cover.

She used one of the panels and then added an applique sewing machine and her favourite word 'Sewing!'

She added funky buttons to the sides.

This is Miss H's sewing machine cover.  She used one of her favourite panels too for the front.

Look at the coolio little button.

Miss H wanted to do something unique for her cover. When she first saw the material she thought it had a bit of a steampunk look and that made her think of the dress she wore to a Victorian Steampunk Ball. And she decided to take her inspiration from that. So she got the Boss to help her put in some eyelets and then laced ribbon through them to make the sides of her cover.

Er...think I got myself in a tangle... Help Miss H....

Miss H also made a pincushion.

Isn't it sooooo COOLIO?!

The Mother also wanted a mat to go with her machine cover.

She made it with special pockets so she can put in scissors, needles, etc.

Then she really got into it and made a pouch for me.

What do you mean it's not for me? You will have to find me before you can have it back!

The Mother added a selvage edge with Handmaids on it which finishes it off nicely. It's actually for her scraps.

A Giveaway:

This is our first ever giveaway. Look at all the coolio things you could win. (Note. Me - the sheep to the right of the picture - is not included in the giveaway.)
The Winner will be picked out of a hat by The Boss on Feb. 8th.

Don't forget to go and check out all the other hoppers creations.

At the Cricket!

Hello peeps,

Miss H, The Mother, The Boss and I went to the cricket for the first time on Wednesday. They have never been before nor watched a game on TV because they have always thought cricket was such a boring game.
But their friend Mr Steve said that watching a game live was lots of fun and he REALLY wanted them to go to one game - so when India came to play NZ they went to watch a one dayer. So they drove down to Hamilton.

Watching the game. We had a good view from the embankment.

We packed a picnic. Those Tim Tams are all MINE!

Then the rain came down and  play stopped... 1 1/2 hours later the game continued.

Sitting on Miss H's quilt which the Mother made for her. The quilt was soaking wet after The Mother decided to use it as an umbrella. (Yes, the bump is her.)

The Black Caps total runs. But because of the Duckworth-Lewis (it seems no-one is able to explain what that is???) India needed 279 to win.

The crowd was bright and colourful.

Mr Steve said this guy - Virat Kohli - was a super star. When he fielded, a crowd of people was always calling for his autograph. Which he signed in between fielding. He's a top batter.  Miss H ran down to get his photo for Mr Steve.

By the way, we won. Yay!  And we have all decided that cricket is not as boring as we thought.

Back to Sewing!

 Hello Peeps,
This is my first post of the year with sewing in it. The Mother, Miss H and I have had a very busy holiday. They have started sewing again this week - unfortunately I can't show you what because it is for the She Who Sews Blog Hop.

So instead I will show you some things The Mother has made.
Last year The Mother made this brightly coloured quilt. I have to admit that looking at it makes me hungry - why? Because it has daisies on it and me being a sheep I lurve to eat daisies!!!

Isn't it lovely and delicious?

Mmmm...YUMMY!

She also made a very coolio wall hanging - with farm animals. She started it about 5 years ago but only just finished it recently.

No sheep?

Now that is the perfect garden. :)

Katikati.

Hello Peeps,

On the way to Lake Rotoehu we stopped at Katikati. Katikati is famous in NZ for all its paintings on the side of buildings.
Many of the pictures show the pioneers and what it was like.

Look at the beautiful horses!

Going to the shop with my new friend.

Hmmmmm... I wonder if they had chocolate back then...

I hope that dog doesn't turn around...

This was on the side of the RSA (Returned Services Association) building.

Holiday.

Hello Peeps,

Miss H just had to get a picture of a bay with the same name as her.  :)

Look out!

We stayed in a log cabin at Lake Rotoehu for two nights.

This is the log cabin that we stayed in. Can you spot me?

Miss H slept in the smaller cabin.

This is the view we had from the deck. :)

We had our own private wharf.

I am soooooooo  CUTE!!!

Oww!

Peep-a-boo!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm back!!!

 Hello Peeps and...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We had a wonderful Christmas.  :)

Sitting around in the wrapping paper.

Hey, get out of my photo, just because it's Christmas it doesn't mean that we are friends...

 Stop stealing my show...

We went down to Pauanui for New Years:

The last sunset of 2013 over Pauanui Beach.

Miss H, Kit Kat and I went on an adventure on New Years Day.

Uh, Miss H how do I get back up?

Ewww, seaweed does NOT taste very nice...

Don't drop me Kit Kat, its a loooooooooooooong way down. (Hanging off the wharf.)

I'm glad it doesn't say anything about no sheep... phew!

My stylish new hat.

Miss H and Kit Kat decided it was a good idea for me to go swimming in the sea - sadly Miss H didn't get a pic of me in the water. Then they dropped me in the sand.
